Project Description
Situation
On the RD202, a winding road located in the Var Department, pavement reinforcement works were undertaken to address significant deterioration observed along the road shoulders, which are particularly heavily stressed in curved sections.
Problem
In response to this issue, the client was looking for a solution capable of meeting two main objectives:
- Durably reinforce the pavement structure in order to limit the appearance and propagation of cracks
- Adapt to the geometric constraints of curves, within a complex road environment.
Solution
After several technical meetings and in‑depth discussions, S&P Reinforcement was able to demonstrate the relevance of its solution. The specific manufacturing technology of its geogrids—characterised by free nodes and high flexibility—made it possible to prove their perfect suitability for installation in curved areas, without installation constraints or loss of performance.
Thanks to these distinctive technical features, S&P Reinforcement was awarded the project and was able to deploy its reinforcement solution on this sensitive section of the RD202. The works were carried out at night in order to minimise the impact on traffic and were completed under excellent conditions, both in terms of safety and quality of execution.
This operation made it possible to effectively reinforce the pavement, improve its durability, and provide a solution well adapted to the specific constraints of winding roads.
