Asphalt reinforcement - L3161 between Wernges and Udenhausen - Lauterbach, Germany
S&P Glasphalt G was used in 6 different sections of the road to compensate for extensive damage. In places where transverse cracks were present, they were locally reinforced with S&P Carbophalt G in 1m wide strips. The superstructure was built up of 10 cm binder course and 4 cm wearing course.
Project Description
Situation
Prior to the installation, widespread crack damage was visible in partial areas and individual transverse cracks at periodic intervals of 10 - 20 m, of which the cause was unknown.
Solution
The S&P reinforcement grids have been installed to prevent crack reflection and significantly extend the service life of the road.
