In October, over several nights, road surface reinforcement work was conducted on the AP-8 between km 109 and 106 near Basauri, heading toward Donostia-San Sebastián.

Situation
Cracks had developed in the asphalt surface, a persistent issue since the carriageway was widened from two lanes to three and four lanes.
Solution
The adopted solution involved installing the S&P Glasphalt® G grid directly over the crack, which had been pre-milled and primed with bitumen emulsion, to prevent its recurrence. The grid was installed with sufficient overlap to ensure effective force transmission to the existing pavement. Once applied, the grid was covered with the top asphalt layers—specifically, a binder course and a wearing course.
