Reinforcement of the taxiway at Barcelona's El Prat Airport
During June 2025, the pavement on the taxiway at Barcelona's El Prat International Airport was reinforced. The pavement was restored by milling, then the asphalt reinforcement grid S&P Glasphalt® G was installed, before being overlaid with a layer of hot bituminous mix.
Project Description
Problem
The concrete pavement showed cracks, repaired potholes and fatigue.
Solution
The solution adopted consisted of milling the concrete, then installing S&P Glasphalt® G on the previously prepared sections of the surface covering the entire width of the taxiway. Subsequently, a layer of hot bituminous mix was laid.
