The use of the mezzanine slab resulted in cracking of the end shear wall.
Project Description
Situation
The occurrence of cracking prompted a structural investigation, which revealed insufficient top reinforcement at the supports.
Solution
The structure was strengthened using S&P C-PreStress prestressed carbon fibre laminates, restoring its load-bearing capacity and ensuring the long-term performance of the mezzanine. The strengthening works were carried out over a three-week period without affecting the existing slab configuration.
