New technical equipment was installed in the hospital, requiring a new opening to route various power cables.
Project Description
Problem
The concrete floor had to be cut, resulting in the severing of the reinforcement and a loss of structural continuity.
Solution
As the opening was located directly in line with the load-bearing beam, the S&P C‑Laminate carbon NSM (near-surface mounted) solution was designed to minimise the impact on the future use of the room. As the laminates are embedded within the concrete, no additional mechanical protection is required.
