Commissioned in 1935, the Chambon dam is a French hydroelectric dam of the weight type that constitutes the reservoir of Lac du Chambon (Lake Chambon). County road 1091 (formerly National Road 91) passes over the crest of the dam and borders the water reservoir on the north shore of the lake.

Situation

This reinforcement project consisted of compensating for any fall of cyclopean concrete blocks.

Solution

S&P proposed the use of a composite mesh on the upstream facing, itself anchored in the body of the structure by adjustable pre-stressed tie rods.
