Project Description
Situation
The city of Wintherthur has an extensive walkable wastewater pipe system, which is to be rehabilitated step-by-step over the coming years. The approx. 100-year-old pipe on Wart Street is egg-profiled (1000/1500 mm), made of in-situ concrete, and about 700 m long.
Solution
In stages, about 3 cm is grinded off the concrete pipe interior walls using high-pressure water jets. Next, the channel bottom is refurbished with a Kera-Line ceramic plate while the remaining surfaces are reprofiled by wet-spraying abrasion-resistant mortar S&P ARMO-crete w RQ onto the old concrete profile. Positioning the S&P ARMO Power Pump directly at the S&P silo prevents dust-related nuisances in the urban environment.
Material
600 tons of S&P ARMO-crete w RQ
Materials and methods were inspected closely through various tests on the structure and in the laboratory. All tests, such as for adhesive tensile strength, abrasion resistance, compressive strength, and water ingress depth yielded very good results, to the client’s high satisfaction. The quality specifications were far exceeded.
