S&P Expands Sustainability Transparency with Five New Environmental Product Declarations
Five New EPDs Strengthen S&P's Commitment to Sustainable Infrastructure
At S&P, we believe that sustainable construction starts with transparency. To further support engineers, asset owners, consultants and contractors in making informed decisions, we are pleased to announce the publication of five new Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) across our asphalt reinforcement and Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) product ranges.
The addition of these EPDs reinforces our commitment to providing independently verified environmental data that helps customers evaluate the environmental impacts of products throughout their entire life cycle.
Supporting Better Decisions Through Verified Data
Environmental Product Declarations provide detailed, standardised information on a product's environmental performance, enabling specifiers and project stakeholders to incorporate reliable data into Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and compare products with similar functions. The EPDs published by S&P offer transparency across the full product life cycle, helping customers align infrastructure and strengthening projects with their sustainability objectives.
Rather than relying on unverified environmental claims, EPDs provide independently assessed and internationally recognised information that supports evidence-based decision-making.
New EPDs for Asphalt Reinforcement Solutions
S&P has expanded its portfolio of EPDs for asphalt reinforcement systems, providing environmental data for:
- S&P Carbophalt® G
- S&P Glasphalt® G
- S&P Carbophalt® G 200/200
These EPDs help infrastructure owners, consultants and contractors better understand the environmental impacts associated with asphalt reinforcement solutions that are designed to extend pavement life, reduce maintenance interventions and support more sustainable road asset management strategies.
New EPDs for Structural Strengthening Solutions
In addition to our asphalt reinforcement portfolio, S&P has also published new EPDs for two key FRP strengthening solutions:
- S&P C-Laminate
- S&P C-Sheet
These EPDs provide transparent environmental information covering the complete product lifecycle, from raw material sourcing through to end-of-life considerations. They enable designers and asset owners to incorporate verified environmental data into sustainable rehabilitation and strengthening projects while maintaining the high-performance structural benefits associated with FRP systems.
Independently Verified and Internationally Recognised
All five EPDs have been independently verified and published through recognised EPD programmes. The declarations are verified through Eco Platform and published on EPD Global (powered by EPD Norway), ensuring credibility, transparency and international recognition.
A Step Forward for Sustainable Construction
As environmental considerations become increasingly important across the construction industry, access to transparent and reliable data is essential. By expanding our portfolio of Environmental Product Declarations, S&P continues to provide customers with the information needed to make responsible, sustainable choices without compromising on performance, durability or innovation.
Whether supporting longer-lasting road infrastructure through asphalt reinforcement or extending the service life of existing structures with FRP strengthening systems, S&P remains committed to delivering solutions backed by verified environmental data.
